Rock Community Care continues to support people in crisis whether they live in the general community, in boarding houses or on the streets. Most people who come to us for support are on pensions either disability support or aged and many have varying degrees of mental health issues.
Recently, we have had some urgent requests from people in the community for basic household goods, clothes and food. With winter already here and prices of utilities, basic household items and food rising, some people really struggle.
We continue to support the residents of Colville Lodge. Our most recent event for the residents was our Annual Holiday. Some of the comments from the residents who came with us are —
“Camp was good, ay!”
“Holiday was wonderful! Best part was seeing the airplanes at the RAAF Base. Breakfasts were great. Great food. Thanks to the Wendys.”
“Camp was very good.”
“I love the food that Wendy and Wendy cook. The aeroplanes at the RAAF Base were really good. It was really interesting. I liked the barbecue at Moogerah Dam. It was a beautiful sunny day and we walked across the Dam wall. We also played cricket and soccer.”
We also will continue to facilitate the Resident’s Meetings, organise social activities and events (games, walks in the park, art…), bus trips, shopping trips, supporting other charities and taking people for medial appointments and hospital visits.
With your help and support, we can help more people who face crisis. Please DONATE NOW to help us continue the valuable service we provide.
